I have tried to grasp onto a pen name I could stick with for a long time now. What's in a name, if If a rose is a rose is a rose, or if a sunflower is a sunflower is a sunflower? Or can it be that sometimes a sunflower is a sunflower is a rose?

I apologize for any confusion. I have published prior til now under the name spellings of Mary Ann Bencivengo, Mary Bencivengo, Marianne Bencivengo, and Mary Ann Hall. I now sometimes go by Marie Benci, or even just M. Benci. I have always played around with my name and other names I daydreamed about ever since I was old enough to read and write. I used to read a name section in the World Book Encyclopedia when I was little and the sounds and meanings of the names fascinated me. I often imagined the names to be used as characters in my stories. I began writing at a very young age.

I may take some time later to blog about some of the favorite names I picked out of the long lists under each head letter as a child.
